Dr. Johnny Ng Kit-chong has served as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) since 2018 and was elected to the seventh Legislative Council of Hong Kong through the Election Committee constituency in 2021. Within the Legislative Council, he chairs the Subcommittee on Issues Relating to the Development of Web3 and Virtual Assets. In his business capacity, Dr. Ng is a prominent figure in the finance, cryptocurrency, and technology sectors. He was recognized by CoinDesk as one of the 'Top 50 Most Influential People in Cryptocurrency' in 2024. In 1999, he founded Goldford Group, a global investment company focusing on fintech, Web3, and innovative investments. With extensive networks in Asia and Middle East, Goldford Group has invested in numerous fintech companies and supports innovation through G-Rocket Accelerator. He also leads Web3Labs, a gateway for Web3 project incubation, acceleration, and investment. These platforms provide physical spaces, seed capital, and global connections to bridge innovative solutions across regions. Dr. Ng serves as an Independent Director for China Unicom (600050.SH) and Chuang’s China Holding (00298.HK) received the 'Ten Outstanding Young Digi Persons' award in 2000. In 2010, Dr. Ng founded the Hong Kong Youth Synergy Foundation, where he serves as convener, organizing youth activities to promote innovation and technology. His community service includes roles as Council Member of Hong Kong Baptist University, member of the Advisory Committee of Arts Development, board member of eBRAM, and Past Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth United Association. Dr. Ng holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and completed postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University in 2006, specializing in computer science and technology.
