Ant Digital Technologies

CTO, Ant Digital Technologies Dr. Ying Yan, Chief Technology Officer of Ant Digital Technologies, is a leading expert in blockchain. She has made significant contributions to the research and industrialization of blockchain, secure computing, and database technologies, with over 100 patent applications and more than 60 papers published in top-tier international conferences and journals. She is the author of Mastering Ethereum: Technology and Practice. She led her team in building a high-performance, self-developed blockchain infrastructure, achieving 200,000+ CTPS in consortium chain scenarios — setting a record in Trusted Blockchain Performance Evaluations — and was recognized as the sole "Leader" in the Forrester Wave™ 2022 Report on Enterprise Blockchain Platforms. Her team has held the world’s #1 ranking in blockchain patents for multiple consecutive years, and led the development of key international standards, including IEEE standards on cross-chain interoperability and blockchain & data circulation, and ITU standards on privacy protection. She founded ZAN – a Web3 cloud service that now handles over 1 billion API calls per day, recognized as Asia’s Most Popular Technology Service. In 2025, her team launched Jovay, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, with breakthroughs in high-assurance proving systems and high- performance parallel execution. Jovay delivers a high-throughput, low-latency, and secure foundation for Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization, stablecoin payments, and Web3 ecosystems, driving the evolution of trust infrastructure in the digital economy era. Recognized as one of Forbes China’s Top 50 Women in Tech (2019), she currently serves as an expert member of the CAC Blockchain Pilot Project Expert Group, Chair of the IEEE Cross-Chain Interoperability Standards Working Group, and a Standing Committee Member and Distinguished Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF) Blockchain Committee. She also holds positions as Principal Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Blockchain and Data Security (Zhejiang University) and Industry Doctoral Supervisor at East China Normal University. Prior to joining Ant Group, she was a Lead Researcher and Head of Blockchain at Microsoft Research Asia, where she gained extensive experience in cloud computing and large-scale data analytics.
