Lawrence Chu is a pioneering investor and entrepreneur in crypto and Web3, specializing in institutional digital assets. With a robust background in regulated finance from his early career at UBS, he has over 20 years of experience navigating global markets and collaborating with leading companies. As Co-Founder of OSN, Lawrence drives the adoption of blockchain finance, enabling seamless Web2-to-Web3 integration for institutions and businesses. He also co-founded Kenetic, a Web3 investment firm, where he has backed transformative projects since 2015.
Lawrence's track record includes early investments in frontier technologies at the cusp of breakthroughs. Through BlackPine, the private investment company he founded and chairs, he supports entrepreneurs in disruptive sectors like blockchain, AI, alternative proteins, eSports, robotics, and other new economy sectors.
In recognition of his expertise, Lawrence serves as a non-official member of the HKSAR Government's Task Force on Promoting Web3 Development (since July 2023), Founding Vice-Chair of Web3 Harbour, and a member of Cyberport Hong Kong's Entrepreneurship Committee Advisory Group (ECAG), where he mentors technology startups.
