Mo Shaikh is a technology entrepreneur, blockchain innovator, and seasoned fintech executive, widely recognized for pioneering innovations at the intersection of blockchain and traditional finance. He is the founder and former CEO of Aptos Labs, a top-tier multi-billion dollar blockchain platform, and Meridio, the first platform globally to tokenize real estate assets using blockchain technology. Mo’s career bridges the worlds of institutional finance, blockchain entrepreneurship, and regulatory advocacy. At Aptos Labs, he raised $500 million in capital from prominent venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz, Multicoin Capital, Haun Ventures, Apollo Global Management, Jump Crypto, and Franklin Templeton. Under his leadership from 2021 until December 2024, Aptos scaled rapidly, achieving a valuation peak of $18 billion, and became globally recognized as a robust blockchain infrastructure provider, forging strategic partnerships with industry giants such as BlackRock, Google Cloud, Microsoft, NBC Universal, and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. In 2024, Mo led Aptos Labs in a groundbreaking strategic acquisition—the purchase of Hash Palette, marking one of the most significant cross-border blockchain M&A transactions in history. This deal expanded Aptos’ presence significantly into the Japanese market. Mo’s blockchain journey began as an early employee and Director of Strategy at ConsenSys, where he played an instrumental role in Ethereum’s global adoption strategy. In 2017, at ConsenSys, he founded Meridio, pioneering real asset tokenization. Meridio became the first company globally to tokenize real estate via Ethereum smart contracts, beginning with the U.S. property at 304 Troutman Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
